Question 1

What data sources does AgriTerra use?

Accepted Answer

AgriTerra cross-references six federal data sources for your parcel: USDA SSURGO for soil, NREL for solar irradiance, FEMA for flood zones, USGS for water gauges, USFWS for wetlands, and USDA NASS for crop values and cash rent. Solar and water are read live per parcel; the periodic datasets (soil, flood, wetlands, cash rent) each carry the source and the date they were read.

Question 2

How accurate is the soil analysis?

Accepted Answer

AgriTerra uses USDA SSURGO data, the most detailed soil survey database available in the United States, combined with a proprietary productivity index that scores soil quality on a 0-100 scale based on multiple soil characteristics.

Question 3

What states does AgriTerra cover?

Accepted Answer

AgriTerra provides modeled data for farm parcels in all 50 U.S. states. Soil, solar, wind, water, and agricultural value come from nationwide federal datasets. Pre-loaded parcel boundaries are live in Ohio and Indiana first and expanding state by state.

Question 4

What is included in the free analysis?

Accepted Answer

The free analysis includes a productivity score, solar potential (kWh/yr), wind suitability rating, water access data, estimated agricultural value, cash rent benchmarks, and, where USDA publishes them, state cash grain bids and basis.

Question 5

What does the Decision Report include?

Accepted Answer

The $89 Decision Report is a full PDF briefing on your parcel: the land's story and full USDA crop history, what it earns today, its options side by side (cash rent, farming it, CRP, a recreational lease, solar/wind) with what each would have to be true to beat the status quo, the tax picture and program windows, what's happening around your land, the soil/water/mineral/timber record, and what to know if a developer knocks. It makes no recommendation and no speculative projection. It is included with a Land Scout subscription ($39/mo or $390/yr).

Question 6

How do I analyze a parcel?

Accepted Answer

Select your state, search for an address or zoom in on the map, use the polygon or rectangle tool to outline your parcel, then click Analyze This Parcel — Free for instant analysis results.
